Cosmetics R&D Institute started out after
a cosmetics laboratory was established in Chang Shin-district,
Seoul in 1948, along with LG Group.

With the completion of Lucky Central Research Center
in December of 1979 as an impetus, we have acquired size and
system, and through continuous effort to accumulate and fundamental
technologies and investments for research development, we have
grown leaps and bounds. Cosmetics R&D Institute has an ultimate
goal of becoming a¡¸world-class cosmetics research center that
creates technologies for the future¡¹ by providing values for
beautification (attractiveness, youth, and health) to humanity.
Cosmetics not only deals with human skin but also
is in close contact with consumers' psychology and fashion trends
of various era. Furthermore, function-oriented cosmetics that
possess efficacy as a medicine as well as its traditional effects
(cleansing and beautification) have been developed recently.
Therefore, cosmetics research is a comprehensive applied science
research requiring an advanced level of understanding where
cutting-edge science and medical science come together with
arts. The R&D Institute acknowledges the ultimate mission
of providing an environment for humanity to enjoy healthier
and more beautiful life. In order to achieve this mission, we
are implementing new product development with related fundamental
and application research, along with skin-related fundamental
research for innovative futuristic products, functional material
development research, skin safety research, and evaluation for
scientific efficacy and effects of developed products.

finding appropriate applications for them or would like to participate
in joint research opportunities for a research theme you are
currently researching or planning for, please contact us via
the contact information below. After prior discussion, we would
give you an opportunity to present your theme at our research
center. After reviewing its feasibility, a joint research opportunity
will be granted.
