LG Household&Health Care reports results for 3Q 2015

LG H&H reports net sales of 1.4 trillion won, operating profit of 190 billion won, and net profit of 136 billion won for 3Q 2015. Versus 3Q 2014, net sales grew +12.7%, operating profit grew +26.6%, and net profit grew 29.9%.

 

October 27, 2015 – In 3Q 2015, LG Household & Health Care, Ltd. (CEO: Suk Cha) reported the highest quarterly results with sales of 1.4 trillion won (+12.7% yoy), operating profit of 190 billion won (+26.6% yoy), and net profit of 136 billion won (+29.9%)

 

Sales has increased for forty-one consecutive quarters since 3Q 2005, and operating profit has increased for forty-two quarters since 2005. Both sales and operating profit have delivered continuous growth for more than 10 years.

 

In 3Q 2015, Beautiful delivered sales growth of 17.6% yoy to 565bn won, and operating profit growth of 22.4% yoy to 78bn won, despite of negative impact on the number of Chinese visitors in July-August from MERS. Prestige cosmetics sales grew 41% yoy. ¡®Whoo¡¯ and ¡®su:m¡¯ have continued to outperform in DFS. In China, sales increased 79% yoy from continuous effort to increase coverage.

 

In 3Q 2015, Healthy sales increased 11.0% yoy to 454bn won, and operating profit increased 17.0% yoy to 68bn won. Operating profit margin improved 0.8%p. (3Q14 14.2% ¡æ 3Q15 15.0%) Sales of six major categories increased 13% yoy from strong growth of Personal Care, and market share grew by 0.3%p to 35.2%.

 

In 3Q 2015, Refreshing sales increased 7.8% yoy to 368bn won, and operating profit increased 56.1% yoy to 44bn won. Operating profit margin improved 3.7%p (3Q14 8.3% ¡æ 3Q15 12.0%), and market share also increased 0.9%p to 29.7%. Carbonated drinks achieved 14% yoy sales growth from increase in sales of major brands and carbonated water ¡®Seagram¡¯s¡¯. Non-carbonated drinks grew 2% in sales while categories including juice, coffee, and sports drinks delivered higher growth.
