LG H&H and CHA Bio & Diostech Launch Cutting-edge Biotech Beauty Products

Date 2010.01.11

LG H&H opened a new chapter of biotech cosmetics by applying world-renowned skin rejuvenation technologies of CHA Bio & Diostech to its new cosmetic products.

- Eight items of stem-cell based anti-aging cosmetics O HUI The First series were launched.

- Six items of placenta-based skin care products ISA KNOX TE¡¯RVINA series were launched.

LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) announced that it would release new anti-aging skincare products, co-developed by CHA Bio & Diostech, a research affiliate of the CHA Medical Group. New arrivals include O HUI The First series, which contain the recombinant human stem cell protein (rHSCP), and ISA KNOX TE¡¯RVINA, which contain the recombinant human placenta protein (rHPP-8TM).

This is the result of the strategic partnership between LG H&H and CHA Bio & Diostech made in June 2009 for the development of skin regenerating and anti-aging cosmetic products. LG H&H is the first Korean company to have access to CHA Bio & Diostech¡¯s proprietary skin rejuvenation technologies in developing skincare products.

¡°The CHA Medical Group, specializing in women¡¯s health, holds world-class technologies. In particular, the CHA institute is noted for advanced stem cell technologies and in-depth research, including the world¡¯s first stem cell reprogramming techniques that can be readily put to clinical use, and research on amniotic fluid and placentas. Thus, we decided to pool CHA¡¯s expertise to produce new biotech beauty items,¡± said Director Lee Cheon-koo from the LG H&H cosmetic division.

LG H&H integrated CHA group¡¯s technical breakthroughs into their premium cosmetic lines, finally releasing stem-cell cosmetics O HUI The First and placental cosmetics ISA KNOX TE¡¯RVINA. The company expects their releases to take it to another level in the cosmetics market.

¡°Conventional stem cell cosmetics merely activate skin cells while O HUI The First is a revolutionary product made by reorganizing the key elements of embryonic stem-cell culture fluid which CHA Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) found to have extraordinary skin revitalizing effects,¡± said Chung, Hyung Min, PhD, researcher of CSCI.

Moreover, CHA Placenta Institute, with unrivaled infrastructure and capabilities for placental research, analyzed key functions and viable ingredients of the human placenta, recombined key agents of the placenta, and applied the new components into ISA KNOX TE¡¯RVINA.

The two innovative biotech cosmetics born from the sophisticated technologies of CHA Bio & Diostech¡ªwhose achievements in the research of embryonic stem cells derived from somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNF) are highly recognized throughout the world¡ªare likely to bring a new sensation into the Korean beauty market.

LG H&H is determined to have its newly released eight items of O HUI The First series and six items of ISA KNOX TE¡¯RVINA series, which are highly effective in repairing and renewing aging skin, in the top 10 sales of cosmetics of this year.

The company also plans to offer premium products to which the revolutionary bioscience technologies are applied, and thus establish a leading position in the cosmetics market in Korea.
