Coca-Cola Company Makes Equity Investment in LG H£¦H Subsidiary Coca-Cola Beverage Company

¡á Coca-Cola purchased 10% equity in Coca-Cola Beverage Company, an investment of about 33.2 billion won.

¡á Enhanced marketing cooperation between LG H&H and Coca-Cola is expected in the Coca-Cola Beverage Company¡¯s business activities.

 

On January 22, LG H&H announced that The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) decided to make a 10% equity investment in LG H&H subsidiary the Coca-Cola Beverage Company (CCBC).

 

TCCC will invest about 33.2 billion won. As for shares in CCBC, 90% will be owned by LG H&H and 10% will go to TCCC. LG H&H explained that with the recent equity investment by TCCC, marketing cooperation between LG H&H and TCCC will be stepped up for the business management of CCBC and to create momentum for growth.

 

TCCC stated that the latest equity investment is a symbol of its trust and commitment to the Korean market. It expects the beverage business in Korea on the whole will grow through close cooperation with LG H&H.

 

LG H&H acquired CCBC in its entirety from Coca-Cola Amatil (Australia) on October 24, 2007, and changed its name from Coca-Cola Korea Bottling to the Coca-Cola Beverage Company on January 1, 2008.
